미국의 가수, 아담 랜달 영(Adam Randal Young)의 원맨 밴드 프로젝트인 아울시티의 대표곡인 Fireflies이다. 불면증에 대한 노래만을 만들던 가수로(현재는 컨셉이 바뀌긴 했다), 거의 모든 곡을 작사작곡하는 싱어송라이터이다. 

 

어떤 노래들은 가사의 스토리가 좋아서, 어떤 노래들은 멜로디가 좋아서, 어떤 노래들은 딱 한소절이 좋아서 듣게 된다. 하지만 어떤 노래들은 그 노래를 들으면 떠오르게 되는 사람 때문에 듣게 된다. 같이 자주 들었기 때문도 아니요, 그 사람이 알려준 노래이거나 그사람이 좋아하는 노래이기 때문도 아니다. 그저, 그사람과 닮아있는 노래라고 생각되기 때문이다.  가사가 그사람과 어울리기 때문도, 뮤직비디오가 그사람의 모습을 담고 있기 때문도 아니다. 그저, 그렇게 생각되어질 뿐이다. 이 노래는 나에게 그런 노래이다. 나의 앨범 주요 플레이리스트에 올라가있지도 않고, 나의 노래방 애창곡도 아니며, 내가 항상 떠올리는 노래도 아니지만, 어느 밤 창문을 통해 들어온 차가운 공기가 스스로와의 싸움을 하던 나를 깨우면 떠울리게 되는 노래. 이 노래가 나에겐 그런 노래이다.
